Meet with Program Directors from the National Institute on Aging (NIA) SBIR and STTR programs. The NIA provides funding, networking, and mentoring assistance to small businesses developing technologies to address the wide range of focus areas within their mission including Alzheimer’s Disease and other dementias, healthy aging, gerontology, palliative care, pain, neurological disorders, and stroke.

On March 20th, representatives of NIA will present an overview of the NIH SBIR program as well as NIA funding opportunities and special initiatives open to small business and other commercialization resources for companies with innovative technologies that aim to address these diseases.

The presentation will cover:

  • Overview of the NIH SBIR program including program structure, eligibility, and NIH resources for small businesses
  • Funding opportunities
  • NIA special initiatives
  • Application tips and suggestions

Following the presentation, pre–approved companies will have a chance to meet one-on-one with the NIA representatives to discuss their technology project and funding eligibility.

How to apply: If you are a company focused on  aging and/or Azheimer’s disease, please submit a one-page summary to Hanan Al-Hakim at Halhakim@biocom.org by March 13th to apply to meet with a program director.
