Precision 3D Imaging and Tracking using Double Helix Light Engineering

January 15, 2019 @ 12:30 pm - 2:00 pm
CNSI 5th Floor Presentation Space, 570 Westwood Plaza
Los Angeles, CA 90095 United States

Abstract Conventional light microscopy has allowed for keen insights into biological questions, but it is often limited in spatial resolution and imaging depth. In this talk we will introduce Double Helix Light Engineering, that utilizes PSF engineering to enable high precision-extended depth imaging, overcoming may of the limitations of conventional imaging. Double Helix's library of phase masks enable capture of object data at demonstrated precision levels of 10-20 nm and extended depth ranges of up to 20 microns in a…

Dr. Benjamin Richter Abstract: Nanoscribe is a manufacturer of 3D laser lithography systems using two photon polymerization. The systems are the world’s fastest commercially available 3D printer with sub-micrometer resolution and are used to fabricate microstructures for numerous application areas such as photonics, cell biology, micromechanics, microoptics and microfluidics. With casting and molding techniques, the structures made of photo resist can be transferred into other materials like metals, silicon, ceramics or silicone. In this talk an overview of the technique, several…

Megalibraries: Manipulating Cellular Function and Expanding the Materials Genome

January 31, 2019 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
California NanoSystems Institute (CNSI), 570 Westwood Plaza
Los Angeles, CA 90095 United States

This event has been canceled due to inclement weather CNSI Seminar featuring Chad A. Mirkin Department of Chemistry & International Institute for Nanotechnology Northwestern University Abstract: Novel materials are crucial for driving the development of next-generation energy, environmental, and biological applications. Nanomaterials are poised to play a critical role ivn this process due to their advanta- geous catalytic, optical, electrical, and physiological properties that stem from their size. However, the discovery and synthesis of these materials remains slow due to…
