
Dave Avery
Associate Director, Research Administration
Dave is a “True Bruin” having obtained both his undergraduate and graduate degrees (MA, Public Health) from UCLA. He brings over 28 years of research administration experience to his role, specializing in management of large and complex multi-disciplinary and multi-campus research programs. Prior to joining CNSI, Dave served as the Administrative Director of an EPA funded national air pollution research center, NSF funded computer science-focused Science and Technology Center, and Chief Administrator for the NSF/EPA funded Center for Environmental Implications of Nanotechnology. During his time with CEIN, he oversaw the development and deployment of over $75 million in research funding involving faculty from eight global universities. Currently Dave oversees the CNSI grants facilitation team, guides the Institute’s strategic communications efforts, and provides valuable support and input for the Institute’s operations.
