Summer Capstone Program

Overview

The California NanoSystems Institute at UCLA launched a three–part program, with support from the state of California, to enhance student engagement with industry partners and address the need for training that aligns with the needs of California’s high–tech employers. As part of the initiative, the ten–week CNSI Summer Capstone Program was created for rising and graduating senior undergraduates. Participating students work in teams to examine a case study startup company asking for funding and learn how to do due–diligence from the perspective of a potential investor. Participants will gain invaluable material from recognized academic and industry speakers that will inform their team projects throughout the program. Using their existing academic knowledge and program–acquired business knowledge and skills, they will build and make an investment recommendation pitch as their final deliverable. In addition, students will receive a weekly stipend of $700.
